The Queen of Mardi Gras Posters
Andrea Mistretta has created the longest continuously running Mardi Gras poster series in New Orleans history. From her first painting in 1986, inspired by a dear friend during the AIDS crisis who "wore a mask of joy to cover anxious and sad emotions," to the 2026 Grande Finale celebrating 40 years of magic — her work has become synonymous with the spirit of Carnival.
